John Proctor accidentally tells his wife (Elizabeth Proctor) that he was alone with Abigail, his former mistress. When she hears this, Elizabeth gets very upset and starts questioning him.

John gets upset with his wife for not trusting him and questioning him. He yells at her, and Elizabeth shuts down.

Mary Warren, an employee of the Proctors enters. John gets upset when he sees her as he told her to not go to Salem yet she went anyways. She cries and tells him she went there because she is very sick.

As though to apologize to Elizabeth for going to Salem, Mary gives her a strange little rag doll with a needle stuck in it. She calls these dolls 'poppets'. Mary leaves soon after.

After Mary leaves, the married couple begin arguing about Abigail again when unexpectedly Reverend Hale arrives. He tells John he has to ask him some questions about Elizabeth, and questions the couple on the rag doll.

Later, Elizabeth is arrested on the count of witchcraft after Abigail accused her spirit of visiting her and stabbing her with a needle. The Proctor's try to explain that Abigail is a jealous liar, but nobody believes them.

You told me you saw her in a group of people.. why would you lie about that?!

Okay John, do whatever you want I don't care anymore.

I'm done with your judgement woman, you should have respect for me and trust me

I'm sorry.. I am very sick!

How dare you disobey me and go to Salem after I specifically told you not too?!

Why is Mary acting so weird? What a strange doll, why does it have a needle in it?

Thank you Mary, I will put it on one of our shelves.

Here is a poppet for you Mrs. Proctor!

She is a very good wife! She knows all her 10 commandments and is definitely not a witch!

What is with this strange doll Elizabeth? Why is there a needle in it?

That little doll was just a gift from Mary Warren, she gave it to me just a little bit ago. It's not a voodoo doll or anything

She is a jealous liar Reverend, I beg you not to believe some stupid young girl over me!

What? That is a ridiculous lie! She is just jealous that I get John!

Elizabeth, I have to take you into custody. Abigail claims your spirited visited her and stabbed her with a needle!
