- In the southern part of the Philippines lies an archipelago where there are abundant natural resources and almost all the people are living in a primitive way. Lumads or the indigenous people are one of the tribes living there.
- The “Lumads” are also considered among the most peaceful and gentle, and the most vulnerable group.
- And I, Arfinie, was one of them. I was raised to be a good girl and the one with a delicate heart. Back when I was young I was thought to be strong and to fight if it is needed.
- Arfinie's father is one of the leader of the tribe which led her to a realization that when she will grow up she wants be a part of the Arm forces because she wants to serve the country.

- But when she told this to her parents, reality kicks her off. Their place doesn't have a school and she heard that they already reported this problem years ago to the Government but there was no reply. Her family saw how desperate she was to learn.
- I want to be part of the Arm Forces
- I'm sorry, dear. There's no available school here.
- One of his father's friend and also a leader made awareness of this to the people and together they helped hand-in-hand to build the ALCADEV or Alternative Learning Centre for Agricultural and Livelihood Development. She got so inspired and she was so happy.
- ALCADEV
- Thank you, dear brother!
- Abruptly, happiness was bragged down and it was mandatorily substituted by chaos. The AFP and the NPA was in war for the land, a lot of people died and Arfinie's heart shattered.
