- One evening, Alec and his sister were getting ready for bed when their parents came in and told them they were planning a camping trip at Lake Lilac, about six hours away. The kids were so excited and started to pack for their trip since they were leaving the next morning. Don't forget to pack layers for if it gets cold, and swim trunks for the lake", said Olivia. "Don't worry, I have it all. I am so excited to go exploring in the forest!" Said Alec.
- Alec Finds a Worm
- Wow a worm!
- When they arrived, they took a little time to look around and enjoy the scenery. "wow, it's beautiful!", said Olivia. "I want to go explore!", said Alec. "Now, now.", said mom, "let's get our tents set up, food prepared, and settled in first. We were driving for a while, it's almost dinner time."
- Three Wishes
- They found their campsite, set up their tents, made a fire, and cooked some hotdogs and smores on the fire for dinner. After they cleaned up, Alec's parents said since it was only five pm, they could each have an hour to explore close to the campsite before it gets dark. Alec chose to explore in the forest and look for any animals, nature, or cool forest things.
- End of the Trip
- While looking around, Alec found a worm. He picked it up, and turns out, the worm can talk. He introduced himself as Fred, and said he was a magical worm that lives in the forest and loves nature. He told Alec he could grant him three wishes since he found him and treated him with care. Alec thought long and hard about this, he didn't know if he believed in wishes at first, but decided he would see if it was true.
- Since you found me and picked me up, I can grant you three wishes, what do you wish for?
- Alec decided to wish for a new bike, lots of candy, and to go on trips like this every summer. Fred granted the wishes, and told Alec he could keep him as a pet. Alec brought him back to the campsite and told his parents he found a cute worm, asked to keep him, and they said yes. Before bed, his parents told Olivia and him they had good news. They wanted to make camping an annual trip. The kids were so happy, and Alec knew he had Fred to thank. The next day at lunch, Alec's parents gave him four candy bars to eat during the trip.
- Three days passed, and it was time to get ready to head home. Alec packed all his stuff up into the car, and took Fred in the front with him in a little house he made for him by using a macaroni box. When they arrived home, Alec's mom said her and their dad had one surprise left. They went into the garage, and brought out two brand new bikes for Olivia and him. "Thank you so much Fred, I now believe in magic, and will always care for animals and others." said Alec. "Anytime kid, said Fred. I love giving nice, caring kids like yourself, this magical experience."
