- Chapter 1
- "Need a Haircut Greaser"?"

- ''Its ok I get it from being with the Soc.''

- Chapter 3
- "Thats why were seperated."
- In the first chapter, Ponyboy introduces himself and gives a brief history of his family. He also describes the relationships between his gang members, and the relationships within his own family. But the biggest thing that happen was when ponyboy left the movie theater a few socs jumped him and threatened to cut his hair.
- Chapter 4
- "you know what a soc is white trash with Mustangs and Madras shirts."
- "You know what a greaser is white trash with long hair."
- Ponyboy and Johnny meet up with Dally and go to the Nightly Double drive-in theatre and when they go they run into two girl socs named cherry and Marcia. Pony and Johnny have good conversations with them
- Chapter 5
- In chapter 3 Cherry and Marcia needed a ride home so Two bit gave them a ride including Dally, Johnny, and Ponyboy. Ponyboy and Cherry talk about Soc, and Greasers aren't that different than people think they are.
- Chapter 6
- In chapter 4 Ponyboy and Johnny go to the park, and then a group of socs go to the park. It turns out that Cherry's boyfriend is the leader of the Soc gang which is Bob and Marcia's boyfriend. They then attacked ponyboy because Bob thought that pony needed a wash and then Johnny killed Bob to save ponyboy's life.
- In chapter 5 Ponyboy and Johnny run away because Johnny killed a scoc named Bob and didnt want to get in some sort of trouble. They then decide to ask Dally for help because he has been in this type of situation before. Dally then tells them to go to Windrixville, and hop on a train to Jay mountain where there is an old Abandon church for them to live in. When Ponyboy and Johnny reached their destination Ponyboy wished that all of this was a dream and Johnny wished the same too.
- "I wish this was all a dream."
- "What if I'm dreaming about all of this LOL."
- Dally had taken Johnny and Pony to Queen dairy for some food. On the way back to the church Johnny had an idea of turning himself in. When they had reached the Church the three of them saw it burning. Johnny and Pony started towards it to see what was happening. After they had found out what happened a lady ran up the hill to tell them that some children are missing. As soon as they heard a cry for help they rushed in to save the children. They ended up saving the children but got hurt badly and so they had to be rushed to the hospital.
- "We started it we started it we started it."
