- One of the wife of Dasaratha told the king to exile Ram so her son can be the king. Dasaratha promised the wife that he will fulfil any of her wish. So Ram was exiled from Ayodhya along with his wife and faithful brother
- A demoness, Surpanakha, felt in love with Ram, so Ram told her to go to his brother. However, his brother refused too. He cut the nose and ears of the demoness. So, Surpanakha told her brother, who is the demon king, Ravan.
- Ravan asked a demon to distract the brothers with a golden deer and kidnapped Ram's wife, Sita.
- To save Sita, the brothers went to find the demon king. On their way, they met an army with monkey and bears. The leader of the army, Hanuman, helped the brothers to find her and lead it's army to fight Ravan.
- The army of Ravan is easily defeated, but Ravan isn't. No matter how hard Ram tried, he couldn't kill Ravan. Vibheesan, Ravan's brother told Ram Ravan's weakness. Ram shoot at Ravan's weakness, his neval with an arrow given by god and killed it.
- The three people returned home and found that the whole city is filled with flowers and lamps, and the whole city is waiting for them! That is why you can see lamps lit up in Deepvali to celebrate Ram and Sita's homecoming.
