- Achilles already killed my whole family, you are my only family left. Pity me and stay here behind the walls.
- I have not forgotten all that, my wife, but I could not show my face before the men and women of Troy if I sulked like a coward.
- Hector said that he wants to go and participate at the war between the Trojans and the Greeks
- O, Zeus and all ye heavenly gods! Grant that this, my son, maybe as notable among our people as I am, and let him be strong, and let him rule Troy in his strength!
- Andromache told Hector that Achilles already killed her whole family and that Hector is his only family left that's why she doesn't want him to go to war because he might die.
- Hector said that he remembered what happened in the past but he wants to join the war out of honor and respect to the others who are joining as well. He doesn't want to be called a coward.
