- Many years after the chiefs great separation, a great drought struck. The chiefs advised their people to eat and drink sparingly, but greed overruled compassion. As time went by and still no rain had came to quench the thirst of both the land and people. Nowhere on the island did any vegetation grow. All of the freshwater springs and streams died to dust.
- Long ago, on the Pacific Island of Guam, there lived two brothers. Who both grew up to be the chiefs of the Northern and Southern Kingdom.
- At first the two kingdoms took turns holding enormous fiesta's each month, at which the other kingdom would be invited to. Gradually these fiesta's were held every few months. Then they were held once a year, then- never.
- The chief of the Northern Kingdom had, had enough. He gathered the four strongest men remaining in his kingdom and had them carry the youngest, weakest children, to visit his brother (The Chief of the Southern Kingdom).
- They then took a stop and rested at the boundary of the two kingdoms. There laid the Southern Kingdom, with the exact same idea to meet the Northern Kingdom.
- During, the night time sadly the children and men had died from starvation and dehydration. The two Chiefs decided to bury their bodies in a line, tat same night. They had finished before the sun could rise, so they fell asleep. That next morning, when they woke, they woke up too trees and plants with fruit of some kind. They had took the fruit to feed their kingdoms. They, then named the fruit "Breadfruit".
