  • Alright bro, imagine this. Some people live in some cave and they can't move their heads and are chained to the walls and have always lived in darkness
  • K
  • These people have been chained to the walls since their birth and have known nothing but the faint light from the fire and the shadows that they envision. This cave and shadows are a symbol of what they know to be real and pigments of their imagination.
  • BTW we aren't real but you don't know it yet
  • Whats good?
  • Sup
  • At some point, one of these people leaves the cave to pursue this new reality outside the cave, which symbolizes the expansion of new ideas and learning.
  • Alright see ya
  • Once he gets out of the cave, he is blown away by what he sees. He decides to go back to the cave in order to tell the others about this new place/reality
  • Wow its bright out here. I know all this new information now and need to go back to the cave to share with the others
  • Once returned, the others believed he was crazy and thought he was idiotic to get them to also go to the surface as not only was he sounding delusional but also his eyes were still adjusting.
  • Nah homie, you crazy, we aren't going out there. It's pretty nice down here when you think about it
  • Blah Blah Blah Truth. Blah Blah Blah come with me
  • The idea of the cave is representing our soul and how we feel comfortable with something we are familiar with, and the fire being the source of our feelings. The shadows represent the unknown and what we imagine something to be even if it's not true. The chains represent the restraint against learning and exploring new ideas. The prisoners represent us and how we act/feel. The sun, moon, and stars represent the reality of knowledge we don't comprehend yet and fear to pursue
