- The assassination of Franz Ferdinand was causes by a group of teens who plotted to kill archduke during his visit to Sarajevo. (the spark to WW1)
- Austria Hungary blamed Serbia for the Assassination of Franz and eventuallywent into war,
- In the war they used weapons such as tanks, bombs, machine guns, submarines, airplanes, and even poison gas which was very deadly.
- The death of so many innocent civilians at the hands of the Germans galvanized American support for entering the war. Which eventually turned the tide in favor of the Allies.
- WESTERN UNION TELEGRAM
- The Zimmerman note revealed a plan to renew unrestricted submarine warfare and to form an alliance with Mexico and Japan if the U.S declared war on Germany.
- In the end, the U.S declares war on Germany because of its pledge to suspend unrestricted submarine warfare. as well as its attempt to entice Mexico to become an alliance against the U.S.
