- This event is important to the creation of the Declaration of independence because this is the first real resentment that is created from the Colonists lying their lives on the line to fight for Britains new land but then they are told they are not allowed to go on that new land. between the British and the Colonists.
- Intolerable Act 1774
- This event is important to creating the Declaration of Independence because it pushed the colonists to rebel with force and anger to such a point that they wouldn't buy anything from England making the England merchants upset and calling for the act to be repealed along with the Colonists. This idea of rebelling and fighting for the things the Colonists believed were right helped their idea to fight the British for what they want gain more realism in the Colonists minds.
- The Battle of Lexington and Concord 1775
- The Boston Tea Party was a major part of creating the Declaration of Independence because it was the colonists first real rebellion together that was planned and was part of a widespread hate. This was the Colonists first real message to Britain saying we want you out. This in turn caused the British to close Boston Harbor and cut of Bostons economy.
- The Second Continental Congress 1775
- This act helps found the Declaration of Independence by pushing the Colonists over the edge. This was the last straw for them. This event caused them to found the first real government of sorts to rebel against England and start making decisions for themselves.
- The Battle of Lexington and Concord helped make the Declaration of Independence by being the first real act of open battle between two the long resenting sides. It caused the Colonists to really start considering that this might be a war they could win.
- The Second Continental Congress meeting was a key part in founding the Declaration of Independence by being the last kind of offer to the British. This was the precursor to them declaring independence by them offering England one last chance to make peace before a war started while still preparing their own army to fight them.
