- My sisters and I have always grown up in a strict household with strict parents. My parents disapproved of watching Spongebob, going to McDonalds, and never going to amusement parks. But there was always one thing that we could never change their minds about. Getting a dog.
- My sisters and I would constantly have arguments against our parents about the benefits of having a dog. A dog in our life can bring happiness and brightness plus create a nice change of pace in our house. But my father always revolted the idea and refused to listen to our thoughts. It felt nearly impossible trying to talk to him.
- Even my grandparents had tried to persuade my parents to agree and get a dog for the family, but they wouldn't budge. As much as my grandpa wanted us to get a dog, my father had refused to listen to anyone regarding this subject.
- I always believed that adding a dog to our family would help relieve the stress in our home and help our family with our differences. I had thought of everything that I could do to persuade my parents. And then it had hit me.
- I know exactly what I could do to convince my parents!

- But as soon as I started presenting, my father had enough. He refused to listen to me. However, my mother on the other hand, had not said anything against my presentation.
- Sasha this is ridiculous! We are not getting a dog! This will be the last time we tell you. There will be no dog allowed in this house!
- Oh my goodness, this dog is absolutely adorable.
- The next day after my presentation, I caught my mother looking up different Shepards and dogs available for adoption. I thought I was dreaming. Was my mother actually looking to get a dog? Did my presentation actually work?
- Later that day, right after lunch, my mother brought up the conversation of dogs and decided to finally share her opinions on the dog situation to our family.
- Fine.
- You know Giuseppe, a dog wouldn't do us any harm in this family and you never know how close you could become with the dog. It may become your new best friend. So what do you say?
- So for the next couple of days, my mother and I spent many hours looking for the next possible family member. Then on a sunny day, we found the most perfect dog ever. He was an Australian Native American dog. We immediately fell in love with him and my mother contactedthe kennel later that day.
- This is him. This is our dog.
- Then on February 12th 2022, we went to go pick up the next Celio member, Dante Celio.
- DANTE!!!!!!
- For the next couple months, we helped Dante adapt to his new home and we introduced him to the rest of our family. We had fallen in love with Dante and he fell in love with us.
- Dante connected with everyone in the family, but he felt especially connected with my grandpa. As soon as my grandpa had met Dante, he instantly formed an unbreakable bond with him and they became best friends for life.
- My grandpa and Dante spent hours in the backyard. Every weekend my grandpa would bring new treats, food, and toys for Dante to enjoy. The two of them were inseparableand their bond was unbreakable.
- Come on Dante! Let's go!
- And when my grandpa passed away, it was a sad day for everyone, including Dante. Dante, my family and I had just lost such an amazing and comforting person in our life. We were very sad. But Dante felt the sadness in our family and helped comfort everyone through this difficult time. It was like our grandpa's spirit was with Dante.
- Dante will miss grandpa greatly, and so will I. But at least Dante can carry grandpa's spirit and love with him.
- You are right about that, Sash.
- Throughout these past difficult months, our family has witnessed an incredible emotional toll. But Dante has helped our family heal and bring us together to help comfort each other, and help continue our grandpa's legacy. Bringing Dante into our family has been the best decision of our lives and we wouldn't have wanted any other pet and any other way.
