- Lennie is eager to touch everything and experience its sensations. In response, the girl panic out as Lennie reaches out to touch her red garment. Lennie was then charged with rape by the girl in court.
- Main Event #4
- Due of the dog's unpleasant body odor, everyone on the ranch, especially Slim, has a poor opinion of Candy's dog. They want Candy's dog to be put to death because they think he stinks, but Candy loves her dog too much to allow that to happen.
- Main Event #5
- Curley and Curley's wife are both looking for each other, but in the interim, Curley's wife, who is referred to as "the eye," is making out with a lot of the males she encounters on the ranch. Because she doesn't get the attention she wants from Curley, Curley's wife flirts with other men.
- Main Event #6
- Lennie and George are attempting to leave the ranch (looking for a place to stay, not a place to live). Candy requested to go with George and Lennie to purchase a new ranch at a reasonable price and stated she could come along provided she paid for the remainder of the land.
- George used to urge Lennie to ignore Curley in order to avoid any conflicts, but now he is urging Lennie to engage in combat with Curley. Lennie went too far between the two of them during the altercation, causing Curley's hand to bleed.
- Slim presents one of the puppies to Lennie after George and he and Slim had returned to the bunkhouse. Lennie may be dim, but he's neither crazy nor rude, so George thanks him for his generosity. Slim claims that everyone seems to be unconcerned about the bond between George and Lennie.
