Yeahh sure that sounds great, so let's go to the terrace and through a ball and calculate it's final velocity...
Aim: To observe free fall of an object and to calculate the final velocity of the object before it reaches the ground.Let's say we throw a ball from a building of height 490m. So here we know,S = 490U = 0m/sa = 9.8m/s2To calculate the time, S =ut + (at2)/2= 490 = (0t) + (9.8t2)/2= (9.82)/2 = 490= (9.8t2) = 490 x 2 = 980= t2 = 980/9.8 = 100= t = root 100= 10s
Calculation of the final velocity
Hence, t = 10sTo calculate final velocity (v),v = u + at= 0 + 9.8 x 10= 98m/sTherefor, final velocity is 98m/s.
