- Buck´s first day at snow was really bad, the other dogs were savage and they were always fighting. He learned to survivive watching Curly. He tried to make friends with a big dog grey as the stones, but the dog atacked her and his face was covered in blood.
- The fight didn´t finish there, Curly atacked the grey dog that had bitten her and a croud of dogs made a circle around the fight. Curly jumped at the dog but he knocked her backwards Curly had lost, he was on the ground when the other dogs moved in to finish her.
- Curly was dead, francois and perrault were chasing the dogs out and Buck saw Spitz running away laughing, this made Buck hate spitz even more.
- Buck have a tough day, every second there were new surprises and hard work, sometimes Curly´s death came into Buck´s mind but he didn´t have time to think about it, because Perrault had importants letters to take to Dawson City so they needed to get moving, this was the first time that Buck pulled a sledge, at firt he really didn´t now what to do but then he saw Spitz and Dave and he started to improve.
- in their way to Dawson City they stopped in a Dog store, and Francois and Perrault bought two more dogs, two brothers called: Billee and Joe, in the evening they bought one more dog named: Sol-leks
- After working all day Buck was really tired but he didn´t have a place to sleep Perrault and Francois were in their tent and he coudn´t go inside, and he coudn´t sleep in the snow either its was too cold, he walked around trying to found the other Dogs but they had disappeared.
