- Romeo doesn't want to leave Juliet and the Capulet's property so, leaving his friends behind, he hides in the orchard behind the Capulet's household. Mercutio and Benvolio try to find Romeo.
- Act 2 Scene 2
- Mercutio suggests they leave the Capulet's property and Benvolio complies, knowing that it is pointless to search for Romeo when he clearly does not intend to be found.
- Act 2 Scene 3
- I love Rosaline no more. I met a girl who's beauty shines like the sun. Her name is Juliet but she is a Capulet. I need your help.
- I am confused. You lost love for Rosaline so quickly. Young men's love then lie not truly in their hearts but in their eyes.
- Scene 2
- Act 2 Scene 3
- You are probably rushing into this but I will marry you for this alliance may so happy prove to turn your houselholds' rancour to love.
- Scene 2
- Romeo arrives at Friar Lawrence's cell and tells him of his love to Juliet. Friar Lawrence is perplexed by this confession and is both amazed and concerned by the speed which Romeo has transferred his love from Rosaline to Juliet.
- Romeo asks Friar Lawrence to marry them. The Friar decides to help Romeo and Juliet as by doing so could help resolve their family feud.
- Juliet loves me back! Will you marry Juliet and I?
