- Greetings! My name is Nicolaus Copernicus, and today I’m going to narrate to you some of the things that happened in my life.
- I was born on February 19, 1473, in Torun, Poland. I was the youngest child of four children. I was born into a family of merchants.
- Although, ten years later, two misfortunes happened to me. When I was ten, my father died, and not long after, my mom did too.
- First I had to say goodbye to my father and now to my mother.
- Don't worry, everything will be fine.
- After my father and mother died, I was adopted by my Uncle Lucas Watzenrode, who would become my only guide while growing up.
- My uncle always provided me with the best education and opportunities possible. He first sent me to the Cathedral School in Wloclawek so I could study to become a clergyman.
