Tekst Storyboardowy

  • The suitors watch as Odysseus in his hidden form attempts to string the bow.
  • ¨A bow lover!¨
  • ¨See how he handles it, the sly old buzzard!¨
  • ¨May his fortune grow an inch for every inch he bends it!¨
  • While the crowd of suitors laugh at the “old beggar” Odysseus, he swiftly strings his bow with no issue.
  • Odysseus carefully assembles his bow, readying the arrow, while everyone stares and watches closely.
  • " 'And Odysseus took his time, turing the bow, tapping it, every inch, for boring that termites might have made while the master of the weapon was aboard' "(21. 95-97).
  • Odysseus, bow in hand, shots an arrow that cleanly flies through each of the axe rings, doing what the suitors believed to be impossible.
  • " '..when with quiet hands upon his instrument he draws between his thumb and forefinger a sweet new string upon a peg: so effortlessly Odysseus in one motion strung the bow' "(21. 107-111).
  • “.. the rest were waiting still in the quiver for the young men’s turn to come .He nocked it[an arrow], let it rest across the handgrip, and drew the string and grooved butt of the arrow, aiming from where he sat upon the stool.”(21. 120-124)
  • “ 'Now flashed arrow from twanging bow clean as a whistle through every socket ring, grazzed not one, to thud with heavy brazen head beyond' ”(21. 125-127)
  • " 'My hand and eye are sound, not so contemptible as the young men say. The time has come to cook their lordships mutton supper for daylight. Other amusements later, with song and harping that adorn a feast' "(21. 131-135).
  • " 'He dropped his eyes and nodded, and the prince Telemachus, true son of King Odysseus, belted his sword on, clapped hand to his spear, and with a clink and glitter of keen bronze stood by his chair, infront near his father' "(21. 136-140).
