- I am sick and tired of working on the farm. It is too much work and I want a different job maybe somewhere in town.
- One day I walked into town to search for a job and saw a flyer by the market. "Help Wanted in the North. Factory workers needed." I ripped it off and ran home to my wife.
- Help Wanted in the north, Factories Need workers
- Before I knew it, we were selling our farm to an old man and his wife, and we packed up the wagon and started our journey to the north.
- I was getting letters from some of my old friends saying that cotton production was raising through the roof, and Ohio had found thriving agriculture.
- Cotton Production is through the roof! -Sam
- That night I had a dream about my farm. I had missed being a farmer and having my own land but at the same time I liked working at the factory. I had made new friends.
- News had eventually gotten around to me that the U.S. had four new states which resulted in huge growth west of the Appalachians.
