  • Dia de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday celebrated between November first and November second. It is celebrated in Mexico with a ginormous fiesta. Even though most people are sad and mourn over deaths, this holiday is very lively and joyous.

  • The Mexican people create altars for their dead relatives with candles, food, skulls, and marigolds. Marigolds are special for decoration. When the Mexican place marigolds on their relatives' altar, the spirit of their relative is guided by the marigolds to the altar.
  • Hmm.... What to wear?...
  • People eat Pan de Muerto, which is made with regular bread with flour, eggs, yeast, butter, and sprinkled sugar on top. It may also be seasoned with orange blossoms. They also eat Dia de los Muertos cookies, Chicken Tamales, Roasted Chicken Breasts, and Hot Chocolate.
  • This holiday is very important because it is held to honor deceased loved ones; They honor their relatives by celebrating them.
  • Women wear traditional dresses like long, floral dresses. Men wear fine, smart clothing. Men wear black hats, while women wear floral headpieces. They also paint their faces to look like a skeleton.
  • A sacred, joyous time, Day of the Dead traditions include food and flowers, visits with family members, prayers, and stories about those who have died. Day of the Dead began as a traditional Mesoamerican celebration in southern Mexico meant to guide the spirits of departed loved ones in the afterlife.
