- This is after Nick left them alone. They sat on either sides of the couch, not talking to each other.
- This is about Gatsby trying to let Daisy understand that he never forgot about her. He loves everything about her and deep down he knows that she loves him too. She is stuck in a marriage with a person she does NOT love.
- I just wanted you to know that I never forgot about you. I waited as long as I could for you, but I had to go. I love you now and I will always love you.
- "Gatsby, you know that I am married to Tom. I can't just leave him, it's not that simple. Even if I wanted to, I can't." She said with a sad tone.
- "I understand, but I will wait for you no matter how long it takes. I've waited for 5 years, what's another 5 years." He said reassuring her of his devotion to her.
- They moved and sat closer to each other., not looking at each other. He tried to break the ice and it is working. He came up with a brilliant plan for them to be together and they were both excited.
- "I want to be with you, I've always wanted you. It just seems like no one cares what I want anymore." She doubted.
- "An hour later the front door opened nervously, and Gatsby, in a white flannel suit, silver shirt, and gold-colored tie, hurried in" (Fitzgerald 84).
- Well, I do, and if we stick to the plan then we can be together forever.
- After, Nick walks in and sees her crying tears of joy. They are both glowing and finally getting the happiness they deserve.
- Everything's going to work out for us, Daisy, I promise. Nothing can keep us from being together anymore.
