Then he leaped far out into the sea. . . ." this is the climax because it is where the action is at its greatest, rainsford is close to dying to general zaroff and then he lives by jumping in the ocean,

"How in God's name did you get here?" this was really close to the end when zaroff thought rainsford was dead but when rainsford got there he was alive and won the game of staying alive for 3 days straight. this is the falling action because it is right after the climax, and rainsford swam back to prove that he won, nad they are about to have the resolution
  • "He had never slept in a better bed, Rainsford decided." this was the very end after Rainsford killed general zaroff and decided to go to sleep afterwards. this is the resolution because we see that there is no conflict anymore, general zaroff is dead and rainsford can live on.
