- The soldier had almost arrived to his hometown after 2 years away. He had decided to camp in the forest the other night and was now preparing to continue his journey.
- I'd better go see what happened.
- What was that noise? It came from the town.
- The soldier arrived at the gate of the town. He found no guards, which was highly unusual and he couldn't hear anything except utter silence.He decided to enter the town and see what had happened.
- Why is the town so quiet? I can't hear anything.
- As he walked, all he could see were lifeless civilians.
- The town elders refused to...pay tribute to the gods... and they... took their revenge on us.
- At last he saw a woman - dying but still conscious- and asked her what had transpired.
- What's going on? Who attacked you?
- Unfortunately, the gods wanted their revenge to be felt by all, and the woman too drew her last breath.The soldier wept for the injustice of it all and swore his undying vengeance to the gods.
- I swear that I will find and punish those responsible for this massacre.
- Lady Hestia, I will not fail.
- The soldier found himself transported to the goddess Hestia's temple, where she gave him her blessing and her aid in his quest to defeat the gods.
- To complete your mission, I give you my blessing. Take this sword and shield.
- After his encounter with the goddess, the soldier made his way out of the town , determined and ready to find and defeat the gods.
