Fever 1793 is about a girl who survives yellow fever in philadelphia in 1793. The scene I chose is positively my favorite scene in the whole book. I chose the one where Washington comes through and Mattie’s mother turns up. Washington comes because he feels safe in the city. He feels that the horrible Fever has subsided. Other people came flooding in because if the president feels safe, then it probably is safe.So this brings us to Mother turning up in the Ludington’s carriage. In this scene you see a parade of people with Washington in the front. There are smiling faces everywhere you look and a carriage in front of the Cook Coffee House. A withered and fragile old lady is climbing out of a carriage. The frail lady was mother returning from the ludington farm. This scene is very important because it marks a monumental moment in the Resolution of the novel. The point where battle scars start to heal and everyone is relieved that Mattie is still alive.
