- Hello my name is Hernando de Soto and after a long voyage from Spain it is time to explore the new world, or The Americas, to find some gold.
- We will also build missions to convert the local natives to our Catholic religion.
- This story takes place in the year 1540-1550

- Wattle and daub house built by early natives in the southeast
- Rah! Me and my men cut down all of the natives to claim land and gain some of their property since they will not tell us where the gold is.
- Even our newly acquired bow and arrows cannot withstand their modern weapons.

- I will attack all of your villages until I find the gold you hide from me! In the meantime, I will steal all of your winter crops.
- Home-made benches in huts for sleeping and rest
- Stop trying to convert us to the Catholic religion, for we will not listen until you put us under force.
- And I see your problem, but we do not have any gold that is hidden from you. Leave in peace! The people are all dying from your diseases!
- In the end, no soldiers were able to find any gold, leading the mission to a failure. The only accomplishments that they made was recording the experience in journals.
