  • Emperor Ashoka was born in 304 BC, Pataliputraand he died in 232 BC.
  • Ashoka , also known as Ashoka the great was a Indian emperor of Maurya Empire , son of Bindusara who ruled most of the India from 268 to 232 BCE. He promoted buddhism across ancient Asia. He was known to take his message amongst the people through inscriptions.

  • The Kalinga War was fought in ancient India between the Maurya Empire under Ashoka and the state of Kalinga, an independent feudal kingdom located on the east coast, in the present-day state of Odisha and northern parts of Andhra Pradesh.
