- Odysseus has been at war for ten years and he has been trying to get back to his wife and son. Odysseus is traveling and stops at Aeolia, the island of Aeolus, the wind god. When Odysseus gets to Aeolia, he is invited to stay and stay for a month. When Odysseus decides to leave for his journey home Aeolus gives Odysseus a bag of wind that contains all the winds but the west wind.
- The other sailors that traveled with Odysseus thought that the bag contained gold or silver, so they opened the bag and let all of the winds out, and the ships were turned around and were forced back to the wind gods island. When they got to the Island Aeolus sends them on their way without any help.#160;
- Odysseus and his men are traveling back home without the help of Aeolus.#160;
