- Mibs's dad is in the red truck.
-  Mibs's dad had gotten into a big car accident.  He is in a hospital right now and he is injured badly. "She told us how Poppa's car had gotten crushed up bad...landing himself in a room and a bed at Salina Hope Hospital..." (page 10)
- I need to go to Salina.
- Fish and Will Junior are fighting. Fish was actually just trying to get the ink off Will's hand, but he spit on Will's hand, so Will hit Fish. Fish is also using his savvy powers and accidentally damaging the bus. "...the big blue-black bruise that was already forming around Will Junior's eye where Fish had popped him a shiner." (page 109)
- The police arrive, and they find Mibs, Fish, Samson, Will Junior, and Bobbi. MIbs is not happy because she is still not in Salina. "Once I'd begun to cry, sitting on the floor of that dim living room, still sixty miles from Salina Hope Hospital..." (page 293)
- Mibs wanted to go to Salina to see her dad. She also thought that she could wake him up with what she thought was her savvy. "I'm going to Kansas and I'm going to find Poppa." (page 70) The people in the picture are Mibs, Fish, Will Junior, and Bobbi.
- After the fight, the bus was damaged because of Fish's wind. Will Junior and Fish were both hurt. The white thing that Mibs is giving Fish is a bandage. "...I stubbornly pulled gauze and dried-up useless antibacterial wipes from the first aid kit." (page 116) It also states, "I pulled a dusty cold pack from the first aid kit..." (page 117)
- Bill, Will Junior's father, lets Mibs go to Salina. Mibs and the others go to Salina with Lester and Lill on the pink bus. The two people in the pictures are Bill and Mibs. "Well, I need someone to drive you all over to Salina, don't I? It would be a tight fit in the patrol car, and it seems Lill and Lester would really like to see you get there." (page 299)
