Improving credit score

- my credit score has been very poor recently since I have been impulsive buying, making many late payments, and I have used a lot of my available credit. My goal is to raise my credit score from a 340 to a 760.
- the first step I will take to improve my credit score is to review my credit score and payment history. I will pay back anything overdue. from now on I will make all payments on time and make the minimum payment if I can't pay the amount I owe.
- when I buy things using my credit card I will make sure not to go over my 5,000 dollar limit. I will try and use less than 35% of my available credit each month.
- next I will make my credit history longer. this is because the longer your credit account is open and in use , the better it is for your score.
- I will also limit my number of credit applications or credit checks. I there are to many credit checks in my credit report, lenders might think i'm urgently seeking credit.
- Right now I only have one type of credit which is a credit card. right now I am getting another type of credit which is a car loan. having more that one type of credit can improve my credit score ass long as I pay back what I borrowed.
