- The next step Jennie has to take in order to complete her goal, it to go through the police academy. The police academy is a step aspiring police officers have to go though in order to have the proper training and preparation to become an active police officer.

- A third duty Officer Carrol l performs is arresting criminals. This puts police officers at risk of harm every day. The harm that can come from this situation depends on how the criminal reacts. In extreme cases, the criminal could pull out a weapon and try to use it on the officer. Fortunately, these cases are rare, and the police officer should have all the training to handle a situation such as that.

- One of the duties Officer Carroll performs is responding to calls for police service. Some regard this to be the most important duty that a police officer carries out.
