- My whole family has the disease, are they going to die?
- Residents of Springville, there's no need to be alarmed. We're aware of a mysterious disease affecting our community, and we're taking steps to bring in experts who can assist us in preventing more people from getting sick.
- Mr Mayor, what is going on? Everywhere I look people are getting sick and are scared. We need help now!
- I saw on social media that we have to get a vaccine! Is it safe?
- Great idea ladies! We should also conduct a quantitative cross- sectional survey once you've identified the main issues and measure how prevalent these perceptions are in the rest of the town of Springville.
- Focus groups and interviews should also be conducted to gather in-depth information on people's perceptions and motivations to vaccinate. I'll draw up an interview guide and begin recruiting participants from different ages, genders and income groups to get a diverse sample.
- I can do an ethnographic study amongst the Obijwe cultural group. They may have unique reasons for vaccine resistance that should be explored. Let's keep our questions open-ended. I can also start the process of getting ethics approval.
- I agree. Since access to health services was an issue raised in the survey, let's also provide mobile outreach health services that allows people to easily access vaccination sites, especially the elderly and poorer people.
- The data shows that residents trust community leaders more than officials. Let's use these leaders as vaccine ambassadors that can educate the community on vaccines and encourage people to vaccinate.
- We can address vaccine hesitancy through education campaigns that empower people with knowledge and corrects misconceptions. This can be done through various media channels, as well as by meeting with the community members to discuss vaccine safety.
