  • Hi I'm Steven parker today we will be covering the devastation of hurricane Katrina that ravished most of the United states eastern sea board yesterday over the span of the last 8 days
  • This devastating hurricane lasted for eight days with the highest clocked winds being 175 miles and hour and ravaged places such as the Bahamas, South Florida, Central Florida and the pan handle, it also affected Cuba, Louisiana, especially New Orleans, Mississippi, Alabama, Most of the Eastern United States and some of Eastern Canada.
  • Hurricane Katrina caused more than 1800 fatalities and 125 billion dollars in damage. The day it made landfall on August 5th it became the 4th most intense Atlantic hurricane ever recorded.
  • I'm here with Dontavious Damarcus Bartholomew the Third. Dontavious can you tell us about what you have witnessed on these few devistating days.
  • Yes Steven there actually is as we were trying to evacuate we were trying to find the best way out of the city because most of the streets were flooded but as we were driving we saw dead bodies floating in the water and some in trees. it was a very horrific experience for my whole family.

  • Well steven as we were packing up a few thingd from the house the wind started to pick up and all of a sudden a flying car came out of nowhere and hit my grandma it was a very suprising loss and she will be missed.
