- One day, Oliver woke up, and he was very weak because his arm was covered with blood for a shot he received the day before, and he went to the big country house to find help where Mr Giles, Mr Brittle and Rose Maylie were living. They helped him a lot and after some time, he became like another member of the family. Also, in the summer, Oliver went to their country cottage. Unfortunately, at the end of the summer, Fagin and Monks discovered where Oliver was living.
- One evening, Monks went to the workhouse where Oliver was born and asked Mr Bumble some information about Oliver's mother, but especially for the ring she used to bring. The next night, Monks met up with Mr Bumble and Mrs Bumble because she knew more information of that. So Monks asked her about the ring and she gave it to him. And when the ring was on Monks's hands, he threw it to the river. After some time, Nancy went to Oliver's house and told to Rose that Oliver was in danger because Monks wanted Oliver to become a thief, and also he wanted him to die.
