- I could use a candle!
- I wish for my son Herbert to live again
- I'm sorry, here is a candle
- BANG
- Since Mr. White refused to get the paw, Mrs. White hustled down the stairs in effort to find it instead. She exclaimed how she needed a source of light.
- Mrs. White stumbled through the parlor to find the monkey paw shriveled up on the table. As she breaths her second wish, Mrs. White hears a distinct noise of Mr. White coming down the stairs.
- I wish for whatever the thing is around us to disappear!
- Mr. White came downstairs with the candle when he heard a loud bang. He shuddered at the thought of his torn son standing at the door. The constant clatter at the wooden door grew louder and louder.
- As both of them went to the door, Mr. White had second thoughts. He ran back toward the monkeys paw. Meanwhile, Mrs. White was about to open the big wooden door to whoever was on the other side.
- Mr. White ran back into the parlor and was quick to grab the paw. He finally wished the last one.
- As he wished, they watched as their house and the thing knocking at their door reduce down to atoms. They were standing in shock for a while. They eventually realized the consequence for wishing away their son again.
