- The origin of the Mitochondria and chloroplasts evolved from single bacteria (prokaryotes) that once lived as independent organisms. At some point, a bigger prokaryotic cell eats the anaerobic bacteria cell (prokaryote/mitochondria) bacterium, which then formed an endosymbiotic (internal) relationship and each of the cells started depending on each other, developing themselves and becoming eukaryotes.

- Before there was an actual mitochondria, they were prokaryote bacteria. The bacteria was able to leverage oxygen by itself. When it engulfed with the other prokaryote bacteria, after time the relationship became more connected, until the point that they basically depend on the other to be able to survive.

- Some advantages of the complex eukaryotic cell, that gave the prokariotic bacterias when they engulfed together were basically that there was a trade as the mitochondria would receive nutrients and protection, and the cell would be able to leverage oxygen and the ability to metabolize nutrients.

- An example of evidence that support the endosymbiotic theory world be in the case of the corals and algae that they work together and depend on each other. Will the corals provide a protected environment to the algae, the algae also produce oxygen and help the coral remove waste.
