- Louis dropped out of school at a young age. He was arrested and sent to Colored Waif's Home For Boys.
- At the school he was taught to play the cornet and was the leader of the school's brass band.
- I'm going to make a name for myself here in Chicago
- Once Louis was released he was mentored by the cities best cornetist, KIng Oliver, in hopes to become the best himself.
- I'm on TV now
- Louis Joined King Oliver's band in 1922. The became loved by many and made lot's of records together.
- Louis moved back to Chicago and started making records under his own name. His records he made transformed Jazz music.
- After Armstrong's popularity grew in Chicago he began touring and never really stopped until his death. Some of his greatest achievements s during the time were his appearances in films and on the radio. His popularity grew because of this.
