- Goodmorning class. Today we are doing a test on ancient Egyptian scribes.
- Egypt is soooooooo boring! I don't even know what a scribe is!

- The scribe sent me out for someone, and I'm guessing it's you. It's interesting he wanted a girl, because generally wealthy boys learn to be scribes. But you'll do. Come, come.
- Why would I want to be a scribe?
- Ahhh! Welcome to the art of scribes! i'm glad you chose this job. Not many girls do. As an apprentice, you will learn mathematics, reading, writing, and of course hieroglyphics. Only scribes scribes and priests learn to read and write. Are you ready?
- I feel so special! I think so. Hieroglyphics is the ancient- I mean is the writing we use, right?
- Scribes have such fascinating jobs! I never knew they wrote stories and letters. Even letters for the pharaoh! I'll be an apprentice of the scribe! Wait. I'm at school! How did that happen?
- Yes, it's the writing we use. Here are some basic ones. Make sure to memorize them, like all scribes have to do.

- I can tell you'll be a wonderful scribe. You will also learn how to write public and private letters, keep data, and learn how to transfer sacred texts onto clay.
- Really? I didn't know scribes did that. I like to use clay, and I like to write. The I thing I don't like is that it will take forever to write, but that's okay. And I'm totally going to ace my social studies test!
- You were at school the whole time, silly! But, atleast you actually like scribes- and know what they are too.
- I told you if you just put yourself back in time Jenna, you would know what a scribe is. Now for the test. Remember next week, we're studying the history of Disney World!
