- Not only were these palaces great defenses for a civilization that was constantly warring, they helped influence Greek architecture and defense for centuries to come.

- I am the Wanax, or the all-powerful Mycenaean king. It is my job to regulate the people, collect taxes, and make offerings to the gods.
- One of the major successes of Mycenaean Greek was said to have been their system of rule, as it kept a tight control on the citizens and was power centered. Although this wasn't always successful for poorer citizens and the enslaved, it helped the Mycenaeans maintain control for hundreds of years without being defeated by incoming armies.
