- What's going on? Why are the streets and parked cars completely covered in ash?
- It's because of the Mount Pinatubo. It's really dangerous.
- On June 15, 1991, Mount Pinatubo erupted. The eruption was the second greatest terrestrial eruption of the twentieth century, as well as the largest to affect a heavily populated area.
- John Jack Wigley, a Pizza Hut Harrison Plaza management trainee, had resided in Angeles City for more than two decades but was based in Manila for work. He had read various reports and warnings concerning Mt. Pinatubo weeks before the explosion.

- We're doing fine, my son. I'm happy to see you safe!
- Thank you, God! I'm grateful you're all doing well.
- When John Jack Wigley returned from seeing a movie, he noticed parked cars covered in ash when he got outside. Because the streets were covered in ash, he thought it was finally snowing. Wigley became concerned that his family was in danger in Angeles City.
- Is it too risky to go outside right now, Mom? Aren't you scared?
- No, I'm not afraid. Only the old are terrified of crossing the river. Would you like to join me?
- On his day off, he headed to Angeles City, but a bridge had collapsed, forcing him to cross the river. It was difficult for people to cross the river. Some people were lining up to cross the river by stepping on coconut trunks and wooden poles that were attached from one end to the other, but he spotted barkers transferring people to the other side with wooden chairs.
- As he walked towards his residence. He hoped they'd be able to move on from all of that soon. He was worried till he arrived home and realized that his family was safe.
- He noticed his mother carrying a load and told him she was going to Dau to deliver the goods to his ate. "Only the old ones are scared to cross the river," he told him, as he was taken aback by his mother's lack of fear of crossing the river.
