  • The antagonist is General Zaroff with his dogs and the protagonist is Rainsford. He was stranded on shipwreck island. His only choice of a chance of survival is jumping off the cliff
  • Rainsford and General Zaroff were discussing their love about the hunting sport. Then the General tells Rainsford about the game he invented where his new animal is humans. Then tells Rainsford is going to be hunted. Reader learn that it would be impossible to know how man animals the General has killed "It would be impossible for me to tell you how many animals I have killed" (Connell, The Most Dangerous Game, 1924)
  • General Zaroff was congratulating Rainsford for making it this far into the game. He will have to leave to dress the slight wound that he got from the trap Rainsford set.
  • Rainsford jumped off of a cliff as a last resort of survival. General Zaroff's dogs were chasing and howling at him. Readers learn that the hounds were chasing Rainsford and he jumped into the sea "he heard the hounds. Then he leaped far out into the sea..."(Conell, The Most Dangerous Game, 1924)
  • Rainsford meets General Zaroff in his home while he is hiding in the curtain of his bed. Rainsford confirms that General Zaroff that the game is not over. Then Rainsford kills General Zaroff. Readers learn that Rainsford found out it was faster to swim than to walk in the jungle to get to the home "Swam", said Rainsford. "I found it quicker than walking through the jungle."(Conell, The Most Dangerous Game, 1924)
  • Rainsford's last words with the General were that one of them will sleep in a comfortable bed and he is now resting. This means Rainsford has survived the game by killing the General. He is now able to peacefully rest without being hunted.
