- Bruno comes home from school one day to see Maria packing up his things and telling him they are moving houses. Bruno is really confused and but Maria said there is no choice and its for fathers job.

- THey get to the new house the next day. its different, the clouds are dark and it just looks really sad in general. Bruno notices that he now has no neighbors so that means he has no friends. bruno already does not like it.

- One afternoon Bruno went down to the kitchen to get some food to eat and was shocked when he saw shmuel in his kitchen cleaning some cups. Bruno gave him some food and accidentally got him in big trouble.
- since Bruno was moving they both decided that they were gonna both search for his papa before he leave. he crossed the fence and started looking. then were all forced to marche into a room and never came out.
