- Exposition:The story is about a Russian girl who needed to immigrate to the USA because of economical issues.

- Rising Action:While she walk to the principal's office, she was nervous, anxious because of what is going to happen and the first thing she thought was that she had made something wrong.
- Rising Action:After the meeting with the principal a day after school Maya, Daniel Klein, Shannon, and David were hanging out, they were pretending that Shannon and Maya were weighing and her parent saw Maya in Daniels's hand, something bad was about to happen.

- Climax:After what happened in school, Mama and Papa got really mad and didn't let Maya go to the dance but Nurzhan felt pretty bad and wanted to help , so Nurzhan had the plan to talk to their parents to ask permission. And they accepted but on the condition that Nurzhan will be her chaperone.
- Falling Action:Then the day of the dance her mom gave her a bracelet that she had when she was 16 years old. Then when the day came, Nurzhan sit in a corner to not bother while she was dancing with Daniel.
- Resolution:Then when they got home they both went for sleeping and while Nurzhan was falling at asleep Maya thank him for what the did
