Tekst Storyboardowy

  • Person vs. Person
  • I-
  • "You're dismissed"!
  • Person vs. Society
  • "No!"
  • "That's it! I wait till I've got all the money I need, sign the petition, and exit this city of spindles in a veritable fireworks of defiance."
  • Person vs. Nature
  • "One, two, three, heave!"
  • Lyddie returns back to the tavern, as the head woman fires Lyddie from te tavern. Lyddie was trying to reassure the woman by words, but it didn't work. I know this because on page 44 Lyddie sates, "She stood in the doorway, trying to frame an excuse or apology, but as usual the words did not come quickly enough to mind." This quote demonstrates character vs. character, because the woman and Lyddie had conflict between one another.
  • In this part of the story, Lyddie and all the others are being forced to work more for less pay. On page 92 in the book, Lyddie, it states, "We're working longer hours, tending more machines, all of which have been speeded to demon pace, so the corporation can make a good packet of money." This quote explains Character vs. Society because the society of the factory, are being forced to work more, but Lyddie needs to work in order to pay off her debts, but everybody is signing a petition.
  • In this part of the story Lyddie is in the stagecoach, as it gets stuck in mud, and all the men try and push it out of the mud. On page 49, it states, " The en grunted and cursed below as their fancy breeches and overcoats turned brown with the mud and their lovely beaver hats went rolling off down the road." This conflict represents Character vs. Nature because the nature, or mud creates a conflict between the passengers, not allowing the stagecoach to run properly.
