- On a Monday morning on the 27 of november,1899, the bells of the holy redeemer bringing his lordships Fredrick C.Hopkins had arrived in the Belize City harbor.

- In May of 1900 Fr. Joseph Muffles, S. J., was assigned to work with Fr. Piemonte in the Orange Walk District.
- Fr. Piemonte died in early June and Fr. Muffles became the pastor.
- Fr. Muffles quickly mastered conversational Spanish and learned to preach in Maya.
- Mr. Kevlin gave his services as architect and building gratis to construct the new church, the La Inmaculada Church
- In July of 1912, Fr Muffles was transferred to Belize, but later in August, the Yellow Fever broke out and Loyola Park had to be closed. They survived the yellow fever.
