- Hi, I'm Nathan Hale. I was born and raised in Connecticut in 1755. I was a Patriot because I was aware of the rising tensions between British and American colonies and wanted independence from Great Britain.
- During the war, I was asked to lead a spying mission in 1776 in New York. I dressed up as a Dutch schoolmaster to be able to travel to Long Island, New York.
- My Story ends with me in New York, still in disguise, captured by the British. While in New York I gathered information about British soldiers in the area, and when trying to make preparations to return home, I was captured by British soldiers.
- I admitted to being a Patriot and the British found notes and records that I made of British soldiers around the area that I was spying in, I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.
