- The French Revolution began in 1789. Citizens of France wanted to abolish feudalism. In order to end this, they overthrew their King, Louie XVI, by executing him. The people of France did their best to make the most out of the revolution but things weren't going so well. Eventually, people wouldn't even go outside because of the terror they felt about looking "bougie" or doing something wrong. Napoleon Bonaparte took charge and lead succesful campains into the revolutionary wars.
- Streets were always mostly empty because if people dressed a certain way or did something a certain way, others (some with power) would execute them as well because it semed as if they agreed with feaudalism.
- The Haitian Revolution was a victory for the slaves. This revolution started in 1791; slaves against French. Slaves were beign treated harshly, and recieved punishments more than they did food. Slaves all at once attacked their masters and resulted in a brutal rebellion. Haitians gained their independence since then.
- Since the French were in control of France, if slaves didn't do their work, they would get shot by their masters.
- The Spanish American wars of Independence began in 808 to 1833 when Bolivar took notice that Napoleon was not fit to rule Spanish America. He, nor the Creoles would have let this happen. So, when the new King of Spain (Joseph Bonaparte) sent his agents, they were forced to flee the city. Eventually, the Creoles were able to create a movement to self-govern themslves.
- Creoles could rise as officers in Spanish Colonial armies and had control and power of certain things in in Spanish colonies.
