  • What would happen if temperature just kept getting higher?
  • Great question.
  • Of course, everywhere would slowly get humid (water in the air) and glaciers, permafrost, and rivers will start to go away. When permafrost starts to melt, the mountains will face more landslides because permafrost is what held them together.
  • After many years, sea levels will rise a lot higher, and leave some places that we know today submerged under water. A lot of people, animals, and plants will start dying because of the heat too. Then soon enough, fresh water will run out.
  • As the temperature (the relative humidity, or how hot or cold it is outside) keeps rising, a lot of the Amazon Rainforest will be demolished, and vegetation will be killed. Hurricanes will be stronger and will destroy parts of Asia, Australia, the U.S. and Holland. Saltwater will ruin the food supply, and the ice at both poles will vanish, making sea levels rise juristically over many years.
  • Eventually, the agriculture will start to fail due to the heat, and failing to be able to grow crops because of it. There will be a lot of pressure for air conditioning on the power grid, and rainforests will soon be deserts. The sun's radiation, the transfer of electromagnetic waves, will be too much for any life forms to handle.
  • Eventually, all sea life will die, then if the sea manages to heat up enough, large amounts of methane will be released out of the ocean, and with the smallest spark, we could have fireballs flying across the atmosphere destroying all life. By then, it would be unrealistic for life to live on Earth due to the sun's radiation.
