- Jesus was led into the desert by the spirit and was fasted for 40 days.
- "No. It is written. One does not live by bread alone."
- "If you are truly the son of God, then command this stone to become bread."
- "I shall not, you shall worship the Lord, your God, and him alone shall you serve."
- "If you follow and worship me, I will give you all the power and glory."
- "Throw yourself off at once, lets see the angels save you."
- "You shall not put the Lord, your God to the test."
- Then the devil himself departed from Jesus at once when unsuccessful at making him fall into temptation.
