- Once upon a time, there was a beautiful girl named Medusa. She lived in Greece, in a city called Athens.
- However, Medusa boasted of her beauty all the time and soon, her boasts became outrageous.
- My golden hair glows brighter than the sun
- One day, Medusa went with her friends to visit the temple of Athena. Medusa was not impressed by its beauty.
- This so called 'Great Temple of Athena' isn't even that great.
- Medusa made rash remarks about the temple and the people soon left, for they knew what Athena would do if she heard this.
- Such a shame that this was wasted on Athena for I am much prettier than her.
- Suddenly Athena appeared in the temple. She yelled at Medusa for insulting her. Medusa tried to talk but Athena silenced her.
- How dare you! There is more to life than beauty! Others work hard and all you do is boast and admire yourself!
- But-
- Athena was angry so she turned Medusa into a hideous creature. Her hair into snakes, her eyes the colour of blood.
- By my powers, your fate shall serve as a reminder for those to control their pride.
- She turned Medusa into a monster. Athena sent her away to live with the Gorgon Sisters, on the other side of the Earth, so that none could see her face.
- Medusa, your face is now so terrible to behold that the mere sight of it will turn a man to stone. Let this be a lesson to you.
