  • Rob got the ball down from the house. Was wondering what the width was? He had to use COS.
  • Rob has kicked his ball on top of a house and he decides to try and grab his ball from the top of the house Rob is standing 13 feet away and looking at the house at an angle of 71 degrees. He uses trig. to find out of tall the building is. He figures out that tan(71) x 13 = 37.75. So the ball is about 37.8 feet high.

  • Rob gave up on the last house and decided to look elsewhere. He found a tree it looked about 11 feet high and 7 feet wide. He used Pythagorean theorem to see the distance. 11^2+7^2 = 121 + 49= 170. Square root you get 13.04ft distance from the ball.
  • Rob has finally got a ball! He is happy now after his hard day looking for a ball to play with.

  • Rob finds another house with a ball on top of it. He notices that the house is 9 feet tall and knows that the hypotenuse is 20 feet. He uses trig to figure out the distance from the house to him He figures out that sin-1 (9 / 20) = 26.7. So the distance is about 27 feet.
