- The French and Indian War was a war against British and French in the 1700s. It was a fight for control over America. England won in the end.
- Boston Tea Party (1773 )
- England had lost a lot of money in the war. King George 3 wanted to earn the money back by increasing taxes.
- Declaration of Independence (1776)
- The Stamp Act was a taxation for books, newspapers, stamps, etc. The colonist thought that the tax was unfair and stopped buying British goods. The Stamp Act was removed in 1766.
- Revolutionary War (1775 - 1783)
- The Boston Tea Party happened on December 16, 1773. The Sons of Liberty dressed like Natives and boarded a ship carrying tea. The Sons of Liberty threw 342 crates into the harbor.
- After the War, Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. 4 parts of it are Why it was written, Beliefs about the government, Complaints about King George 3 and Declaring independence from England.
- In the Revolutionary War, the colonists went up against England to rule themselves. They had to go through tough times in the war, but finally the colonists won.
